My fave thing about NYC is the fact that most of the city is a walking photograph. I’ve been using my iphone to document what I see. I have a series called ‘Beauty In The Subway’ on Instagram, which is all underground. Everything else is street scenes, obsessions/inspirations, as well as the required food pics and Sunday morning hangover self-portraits.
Here is a link to my Instagram if you want to check it out: http://instagram.com/marcusmorris/
The model is the muse. I find that I tend to get inspired by a model and then I’ll want to shoot for centuries with them. My current muse is a Danish model named Sylvester Henriksen. He reminds me of Natalie Portman in The Professional. I’m not sure how I came across him, but it is safe to safe that he is the biggest inspiration I’ve had in a long time. I hope I can get the chance to shot him. I’d love to take him to Namibia and do a story.
I’m still here. Since we last spoke I have been insane busy with my day job, trying to get published, and trying my best to experience New York. I also went through a pretty terrible breakup, but I hope I can learn much from it and be a better person as a result. As well as a better photographer and more creative. It’s a mission of mine to start being a better blogger, so here we go!
So I have been consulting/test shooting for a new model agency called MIX Model Management. It is really insane to have been working with them the past few months and I am learning an insane amount about the industry. I conceptualize and conspire with one of the heads of the agency, and do test shoots with new faces. I am doing this in addition to my day job. I am really excited about the future with MIX and I am hopefully going to be shooting some amazing MAJOR models who are repped by them.
It’s been a long time…
I shouldn’t have left you…without a dope beat to step to.
The eternal drama of having a blog and being busy is that often, you don’t have time to blog. Or, it totally escapes you to post about the stuff you are doing.
Hopefully, I can start to get past that.
